Easter dress pattern; Sullivan Dress by SewMuchAdo

My 6-year-old wanted something cute and "princess-y" for her Easter dress this year. I don't think I will have many more years of her wanting something super girly, so I was super excited to be able to sew something using some of the special occasion fabrics from JoAnn's.

We ended up getting some fun pink lace for the skirt and shimmery gold textured fabric for the bodice. I made sure to get a nice silky satin for the lining, because this girl needs things to be super comfortable, or she won't wear it for more than 2 minutes. ;) And of course, we needed a big sparkly button for the back closure!

I had been wanting to buy the Sullivan Dress Pattern from Sew Much Ado for awhile, and thought it would be the perfect time to make it for Easter.

This pattern was very straight forward and easy to understand. There were a lot of pictures included and detailed step-by-step instructions, which I always appreciate.

I think if I sew it again, I will either use a lighter weight fabric for the bodice, or make it a straight bodice instead of the scalloped bodice. The thick fabric made it hard for the scallops to come out super crisp.

She loves wearing this dress and loves the length because when she goes down the stairs she has to pick it up to avoid stepping on it, and that is, of course, what princesses have to do, so it's perfect!
