A Dynamic Duo - McCall's #7906 Pleated Skirt and the Natalie Shirt by Seamwork

These two patterns make an awesome pair! McCall's 7906 Pleated Skirt and the Natalie Shirt by Seamwork.

For the skirt, I used a green eyelet fabric that had been sitting in my stash for far too long. I bought it from JoAnn and unfortunately, I couldn't find it in stock anymore.

This skirt pattern was such a fun and easy pattern to make. If you are unfamiliar with how to do pleats, this may not be the pattern for you, or it may be the perfect pattern for you to learn how to do pleats... it's all in how you look at it! :) LOL

Some of my favorite features of this skirt are the pockets, the high pleated waist, the big belt loops, and the different length options. I went with View B, which is the medium length option, but I added in the belt loops from View D.

The top is the Natalie Pattern by Seamwork. I sewed this shirt up about a year ago, but I thought it went perfectly with this skirt, so I paired them together.

The fabulous fabric I chose for the shirt was this floral rayon poplin from Fabric.com. And it is no longer in stock either... Darn it! That is a shame, because this fabric is the best! It's lightweight and has a beautiful drape. If I could find it again, I would buy the bolt! :)

As for the pattern, this is a great beginner project if you are wanting to learn how to sew a button-up with a collar. The instructions are nice and clear with Seamwork Patterns and the illustrations are great.

I highly recommend both of these patterns... and if you paired them together, even better! ;)
