The Lena Horne Dress Pattern by Tabitha Sewer

Ok you guys! This dress pattern is the epitome of summer! And even better, when made in a red and white striped fabric, it's perfect for the 4th of July!

This is the Lena Horne Dress by Tabitha Sewer. This is Tabitha's first pattern release, and it's a good one! It comes in a knee length, or midi length and has fun ruffled straps that cross in the back. I chose to make the midi length, and I added a ruffle to the bottom.

This is a fairly straight forward sew. I purchased the pdf pattern and was pleasantly surprised by the fact that this pattern is only 20 pages. That is very reasonable for a pdf pattern. I've come across patterns before that have page counts into the 50's and 60's!

I would say a confident beginner could tackle this project, especially because Tabitha has a step-by-step video tutorial on YouTube. I always appreciate a good pattern walk through... I am such a visual learner, and seeing someone do it always helps me.

The fabric I used was a beautiful Telio Rayon Poplin in a red and white stripe from Fabric.com

This fabric is lightweight and drapey and soft and wonderful! It was such a joy to work with and a dream to wear!

I could see this being a very versatile pattern for all seasons. I can't wait to make it again in a velvet for winter, with a turtleneck underneath! It's fun to see what other people have been doing with this pattern as well!
