McCall's 7577 - Jumpsuit with Double Bell Sleeves
I've found comfort at it's finest y'all! This jumpsuit/fabric combo is like a match made in comfort heaven. It's basically pajamas... and that makes it a wardrobe staple in my opinion.
Let's talk about this fabric for a second... I found it at Fabric Mart, but sadly I don't think it's in stock anymore. It is a Black/Navy abstract print, 100% polyester... but the magic happens with the tiny pleats, which gives it stretch and movement. So if you are looking to replicate this look, or want a jumpsuit as comfy as this, look for those pre-pleated fabrics... you can thank me later. ;)
For the contrasting yoke in the back, I did a black lace which I lined with a black cotton fabric.
The pattern is McCall's #7577, I did view C. It's a cross bodice jump-suit with a double bell sleeve and a contrasting yoke. I didn't make any changes to the pattern at all except I sized down a few sizes after looking at the finished measurement sizes on the pattern envelope.
I did add a snap to keep the opening closed on the bodice, which is a super quick addition that gives me some peace of mind. I also added a blue belt made out navy cotton.
This is a straight-forward, quick project. I think a confident beginner could take this one on. The steps are clear and precise.
My husband and I were celebrating 18 years of marriage and were staying at The Grand America, so we thought it was a good backdrop to take some photos! If you are ever in SLC, Utah and need a nice place to stay... I recommend the Grand whole-heartedly. :)
