DIY Valentine Keychains with Free Printable Tags
These fun keychains would be great for kids to give their friends or classmates for Valentine's Day. Choose from a Sequin Heart keychain or a Fuzzy Mustache keychain (or both!) then print off the free printable tag to attach it to. My kids love to put these on their backpacks!
I have attached the directions and supply list below. There are some tutorial videos to show you how to make these as well.
These are so quick and easy, you can make up a bunch! Enjoy!
Materials for Sequin Heart Keychain:
-Reversible Sequin Fabric ( I used fabric from JoAnn)
-Matching Felt
-Fiber Fill Stuffing
-Ribbon
-Needle and Thread
Instructions:
Print out the Heart Template and cut out. Place the template on a scrap pf sequin fabric and felt. Pin together, then cut out. I found the rotary cutter worked best for the sequin fabric. With right sides together, pin the felt and sequin fabric together, making sure to pin in the folded piece of ribbon to form a loop at the top of the heart. Sew around the edges, leaving a space open for turning. Clip notches into the curves, and turn the heart right side out, making sure to push out all of the edges. Stuff with fiberfill. Then push the open edges in towards the middle and sew the opening closed. Attach the jump ring, chain, split ring and lobster claw together, then put the jump ring on the ribbon loop. Attach the tag and you are done!
Materials for Mustache Keychain:
-Fur Material (This is what I used)
-Matching Felt
-Ribbon
Instructions:
Print out the Mustache Template and cut it out. Lay the Fur, felt and template together and pin. Cut out along the dotted lines. With the wrong sides together, pin the fur fabric and felt together making sure to pin the folded ribbon in with the raw edges facing in. Sew along the outside edges, using a 1/4" seam allowance. Cut the edges to make sure the edges are nice and clean. Give that "stache a trim :) Attach the jump ring, chain, split ring and lobster claw together, then put the jump ring on the ribbon loop. Attach the tag and you are done!
