Cropped Jacket Pattern Burda 08/2015 #109

This jacket was the last project I did for the Burda Style Teaching Certification Course. This is not a pattern I would have picked for myself normally, but once I picked the perfect fabric and trim I was really happy with how it came out.

This is a lined jacket, with an ease pleat in the lining and hand stitched hems. I have never done a lined jacket before, so it was fun to try this out.

I picked a black velvet fabric and fun pleated trim from JoAnn.

Some of the techniques used in this pattern were darts, setting in a sleeve, attaching a facing, attaching a lining with an ease pleat, and hand sewing the hems.

One of the best things about taking this course, were having to make patterns I wouldn't have normally picked, but making them my own to fit my style. It's helped me to look at patterns in a different way.

Thanks for stopping by!
